Luke 15:4-7

4 Suppose one of you has 100 sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the 99 in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?

5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulder and goes home.

6 Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says rejoice with me. I have found my lost sheep.

7 I tell you the truth there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine who do not need to repent.

What YCGRM Is About

The Yamhill County Gospel Rescue Mission (YCGRM) is a non-profit 501(c)3 Christian organization founded in 2004 by a small group that saw a need for emergency shelter in Yamhill County. The heart and mission of YCGRM is to provide food, shelter, and hope for the soul through the love of Jesus Christ.

Currently, we house up to 17 individuals or families (men, women, and children). The duration of stay depends on the needs of the guest and resources available. YCGRM is a member of the National Association of Gospel Rescue Missions and works closely with YCAP, Henderson House, Love Inc., UGM in Salem, Simonka House, and many other organizations/ministries to provide the best options for each guest.

Daily operations consist of 3 employees and volunteers. We are always looking for volunteers to help fill the gap with shift work or other areas of need.
Bible studies are offered each day and transportation is arranged for those that work or have meetings. A computer lab is provided at the mission to teach job skills and other classes are offered at various locations to give each guest an opportunity to become self-sufficient. Programs are being developed for those that have a heart to serve the Lord and want to work in the mission field.

YCGRM continues to meet the needs of the people who come to us for help and through the love of the Lord Jesus Christ we provide a hand up, not a hand out.

History

YCGRM initially began as the Yamhill County Bed & Bread Outreach in 2003. After a few employees of the 911 center saw a need to help the homeless get off the street, they began to pray for the Lord's direction on how to help.

Members of the outreach began going to various camps in Yamhill County sharing the Word of God, praying with individuals, and meeting needs physically and spiritually. A lunch along with a Bible study was provided in a McMinnville park every Saturday and Thursday to feed the hungry and share the Gospel.

After seeing what the Lord was accomplishing in the lives of men, women, and families, donors began helping financially. As the winters grew cold, the community saw a need for a cold weather shelter and an organization to run it. The Seventh Day Adventist offered their building on Logan Street to be used for that purpose and YCGRM took on the challenge. The shelter then transitioned into a full time Gospel Rescue Mission and after a couple of years, YCGRM was able to purchase the building.

From the very beginning, God has been confirming His will for YCGRM and continues guiding the Mission through His grace.

Vision

The Yamhill County Gospel Rescue Mission will continue to labor and expand to better serve men, women, and families. The objective is to provide a Christ centered facility that will disciple and train anyone that the Lord sends our way.

Our goals include a building that would allow for expansion of more individuals along with separate buildings that can accommodate women and families. Jobs created through business would also provide a trade and an income for gaining independence.
